Advanced Energy Initiative President Bush recently launched the Advanced Energy Initiative that outlines an aggressive plan to help the U.S. move beyond our dependence on fossil fuels through expanded development of alternative energy sources.
American Competitiveness Initiative The American Competitiveness Initiative ensures that American scientists will have the necessary resources and facilities to usher in technological innovation and produce technological advances. The President believes that innovation is the key to achieving energy independence and preserving our status as the world's leading economic power.
Clean Energy Initiative The Clean Energy Initiative seeks to provide millions of people in the developing world with access to affordable, reliable, clean, healthy, and efficient energy services.
Energy Policy Act (2005) The Energy Policy Act of 2005 provides a long-term strategy to confront our energy challenges in a balanced, comprehensive and environmentally sensitive way.
Enery Star Program The Energy Star label is the government's seal of energy efficiency, and can be found on everything from electronics, to home appliances, to windows. Consumers have purchased more than 1.5 billion products with the Energy Star label. Energy Star is a joint initiative of the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy that has been proven to save energy and reduce energy bills for consumers.
Global Nuclear Energy Partnership As part of President Bush's Advanced Energy Initiative, the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership (GNEP) seeks to develop worldwide consensus on enabling expanded use of economical, carbon-free nuclear energy to meet growing electricity demand. This will not only enhance our energy security, but will also promote non-proliferation.
Hydrogen Fuel Initiative In 2003, President Bush announced a $1.2 billion Hydrogen Fuel Initiative to reverse America's growing dependence on foreign oil by developing the technology needed for commercially viable hydrogen-powered fuel cells. This would provide a way to power cars, trucks, homes, and businesses without producing pollution or any greenhouse gases.
Tribal Energy Program Administered by the Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, this program promotes tribal energy sufficiency, economic development, and employment on tribal lands through the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies.
